Today, we’re excited to feature Isabel Gull, Senior Software Developer from our Engineering & Data Science team. With a passion for problem-solving and a deep commitment to our mission, Isabel’s journey is a perfect example of how innovation and collaboration come together at Arbolus.

What inspired you to join Arbolus, and what do you enjoy most about working here?

I was drawn to Arbolus because of its collaborative and dynamic environment, where innovation is encouraged, and teamwork is at the core of everything. As a backend developer, I love solving complex problems, and what makes it even better is the amazing team I get to work with. The support, camaraderie, and fun we have together make every challenge feel like an exciting puzzle rather than a task.

How would you describe the company culture in one word, and why?

Collaborative. I really enjoy our team gatherings and informal moments when we just take a break, share jokes, and have fun together. These moments remind me why I love working here—it's not just about the work but the people who make it special.

What does a typical day look like in your role?

A typical day for me involves designing and maintaining the backend architecture that powers our applications. I collaborate closely with my team, reviewing code, brainstorming solutions, and ensuring our systems run smoothly. There’s always something new to learn, and I love the challenge of making our backend more efficient and scalable.

What’s your favourite tradition or event at Arbolus?

The summer party is definitely a highlight! It’s such a fun and special time where everyone gets together, relaxes, and enjoys great conversations outside of work. It really showcases the amazing culture we have—where we work hard but also know how to celebrate our achievements as a team.

Can you share a fun or surprising fact about yourself that most of your colleagues might not know?

I’m the only female developer on the team, but that doesn’t make me feel any different! I also love learning new languages—both programming and spoken ones! (Still working on my English, though! 😄)

If you could trade roles at work for a day, which role would you choose?

I’d love to try out a Product Manager role for a day. It would be interesting to see how decisions are made from a strategic perspective and how different teams align to bring ideas to life.
